Bingo Bango Bongo golf game rules
Bingo Bango Bongo gives every player a chance on every hole, whatever their handicap. There are three points up for grabs on each hole.
The three points
- Bingo: first player to get their ball on the green.
- Bango: once everyone is on the green, the ball closest to the hole.
- Bongo: first player to hole out.
Playing order matters
The player furthest from the hole always plays first. That keeps Bingo and Bongo fair: a short hitter often gets the first chance to reach the green.
Scoring
Each point is worth an agreed value. At the end, points are settled by the difference between each pair of players, so a player with 2 more points than another collects 2 × the value from them.
Worked example
Dave, Mike and Sam at $1 a point. Hole 1: Dave gets Bingo and Bango, Mike Bongo. Hole 2: Sam Bingo, Dave Bango, Sam Bongo. Hole 3: Mike gets all three.
Dave 3 points, Mike 4, Sam 2. Settled pairwise: Mike +$3, Dave $0, Sam −$3.
